私の大好きな料理: a.k.a. My Favorite Japanese Dish.

Sadly, the only pictures I have of this dish are ones which I have found on the internet, as when I ate it, I was so overcome by sheer bliss that the thought to capture the moment on camera never crossed my mind. Three cheers for the World Wide Web.

Anyways, the dish which I am referring to is a dish of udon (うどん), a certain type of Japanese noodles. It is one which I referred to while reporting on my homestay with Anri, and I thought I would go into it in a bit more detail here. The only problem is, I don't know it's name!! Therefore I will refer to it as "the udon dish".

It involves eating cold udon in bowls which contain a mixture of water, shoyu, and wasabi. Various toppings are put on top - the ones eaten by me included nori, thin fried egg, cucumber, tomato, seafood sticks, and turkey.

For anyone who has ever tasted this dish before, you know how I feel. For anyone who has not - find me in Scotland and I'll make it for you. It's a little bit of Heaven on earth. It's normally eaten as a summer dish in Japan, as it's good for cooling down. As soon as I find out the name, I'll let you know. ^ ^

EDIT: I believe this is called "zaru udon" (ざるうどん). It is normally done with bamboo sives which hold the udon noddles - however, we just used bowls.
